Fundraising

There are various fundraising opportunities throughout the year. These are not mandatory, but they WILL help pay your Band/Guard assessments. Many students pay their annual fees in full with these fundraisers!! It takes only a little bit of effort for a large return. 

Product Sales/Individual Fundraising Opportunities 

Throughout the year, we will provide opportunities for the students to sell high quality items. A percentage of the profits (sales-costs) from your sale of these items will be credited directly to your student’s ledger. Below are examples of some traditional fundraisers: 

● Script: Individuals or families purchase gift cards from RaiseRight. The retailer donates a percentage of the gift card's value to the organization. See below> 

● Mum sales: Orders are taken in September for October delivery. 

● Poinsettia sales: Orders are taken in late October for early December delivery. 

● Hanging Basket sales: Orders taken late March for late April delivery. 

● Mattress Fundraiser: Held in early May in the high school gymnasium. 

● Other: Other fundraisers may be offered subject to Board approval. 

General Band Fundraising Events 

Throughout the year, we host many fundraisers that go into the general fund for the band. These are the main source of funding to reduce the amount of fees due for the students throughout the year. The money made from these fundraisers are used for major expenses for general operations. Any excess money in these accounts will be used to reduce the costs of potential trips, season fees, or upgrading areas of the program. 

● Football games: During Varsity football games we offer Spirit Wear to raise funds for the Band General Fund. 

● Pageant of Bands: During Pageant concert we offer preferred seating and Spirit Wear sales to help raise funds for the Band General Fund. 

● Annual Trivia Night and Silent Auction held in February 

● HundredX Fundraiser held in March 

● Craft Fair / Rummage Sale held in May 

Spirit Wear 

Spirit Wear is offered at great prices to help you show your Holt Indian Band pride. Sales normally occur during the fall football games and at other events throughout the year to benefit the Band General Fund. 

Sponsorships 

We have a sponsorship program in place to benefit the Band General Fund. If you or your business would be interested in sponsoring the band for some cooperative promotions, please contact the Band Booster President and the Directors.

RaiseRight (Scrip)

Physical gift cards, eGift cards, and reloadable cards from local and national retailers purchased at face value from the Band Boosters. The RaiseRight program is very effective because families generate revenue through purchases on their everyday shopping.

If you get in the habit of purchasing regularly, you can earn enough that your out of pocket fees can be greatly reduced! This is money that you would spend anyway for groceries, gas, household goods, restaurants, clothes, hardware, etc.  We sell gift cards for over 700 hundred merchandisers, with earnings rates from 1% to 13% or more!  Here’s how it works:

You purchase gift cards for the face value and you received the full value of the card.  So a $100 Dierbergs card costs you $100, and you can purchase $100 worth of groceries at any Dierbergs.  BUT, the card costs the band only $95, so $5 is earned without spending any more than you already were planning to spend.  Of those $5 earnings, 75% ($3.75) goes directly towards your student’s band fees!  The remaining 25% ($1.25) goes to the band general fund.  Super easy!  No selling, no out of pocket spending besides your normal budgeted amounts.  If you do that each week for 10 weeks of marching, you’ve earned $37.50, just by purchasing groceries you were already going to purchase.  If you buy additional cards for additional retailers, your earnings just grow from there!   Higher percentage earnings mean more dollars earned for your student.
